Job Purpose
The intern will support the procurement of products and services for ISTT to enable the institution deliver on its mandate of provision of customer centric training, education and consulting. The Intern will participate and support the procurement process to contribute to organisational strategic objectives.
Key Result Areas and Principal Accountabilities
The key result areas and primary responsibilities are:
a) Assist in the preparation of and managing purchase orders, requisitions, and contracts.
b) Review and verify purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.
c) Communicate with suppliers to request quotes, negotiate terms, and track order status.
d) Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory management.
e) Assist in the resolution of procurement-related issues and discrepancies.
f) Assist in the preparation of plan and reports on procurement activities and expenditures.
g) Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
h) Support the procurement team with administrative tasks and coordination.
i) Ensure compliance with organisation’s policies and relevant procurement regulations.
Essential/desirable qualifications/experience
Professional Qualifications
a) Must have a Diploma in purchase and supply or equivalent.
b) Membership with Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) is a must.
Skill Specifications
a) Computer literate
b) Demonstrable ability to use the ZPPA eGP.
c) Good negotiation skills
d) Good report writing skills.
e) High interpersonal skills
f) Office management and organizational skills
