JOB PROFILE
To Set up, operate, and maintain the electronic equipment used to transmit radio signals. Control audio equipment and regulate volume level and quality of sound during radio broadcasts.
MAIN DUTIES
Setting up, testing, and maintaining radio towers, equipment racks, intercom systems, and other equipment used in radio stations
Installing and repairing radio towers, antennae, cables, insulators, switches, and other equipment used in radio transmission and reception
Operate all equipment, such as audio mixing consoles, media control systems, oscilloscopes, frequency analyzers, and satellite receivers, used to broadcast radio programmes
Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wires and cables used in electronic equipment repair and installation
Maintain equipment to ensure that it functions properly
Quickly and effectively troubleshoot problems with transmission
Conduct functional and operational testing procedures to ensure quality performance of broadcast products including radio programmes
Maintaining radio station logs to ensure that broadcasting is done at all times
Work with engineers to test and integrate new systems
Use computer software to edit audio recordings
Installing and repairing telephone equipment, including transmitters, receivers, and switching equipment.
