The role is responsible for end-to-end management of FTTx network projects as well as customer (last mile) connections, delivery, and commissioning of FTTx networks and customer connections within the approved scope, budget, and schedule.
Responsibilities
- Plan, Implement, optimise and commission fibre network projects and customer connection links
- Develop plans on the approved project charter and develop project management plans.
- Ensure that the Department meets its targeted connections and network rollout timelines goals and objectives, meets staff on a pre-agreed basis.
- Provide projects budgetary inputs for inclusion in the overall department budget.
- Manage the projects that are executed in line with approved design documentation.
- Review projects performance reports in accordance with the approved projects plan and deliverables.
- Manages the contractors in service provision in line with agreed SLA and contracts.
- Manage customer prioritizations and escalations to ensure project is completed as per agreed timetable with the customer.
- Proactively manage and resolve customer escalations related to service delivery matters within given portfolios utilizing hands on approach.
- Develop, updates and checks adherence to policies and procedures for Projects Management Processes according LITZM build standards.
- Manage department control measures, to ensure business continuity in compliance with Local Government, Council and City By-Laws and ZICTA permit requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecoms, or Computer Science.
- Member of recognized professional Institute.
- 5 years’ experience in the in Telecommunication/ ICT industry.
- Project Management Training / Certifications
