Impact One Initiative is a non-profit organization equipping community schools in Lusaka, Zambia to provide a quality education for their students. We provide our partner schools with training, mentoring, and networking opportunities to improve their management and teaching skills. We also support our schools with reading, technology, and creative arts programs. Along with our school-specific programs, we also engage the broader community with books and learning opportunities through our Library and Training Center.
Communications and Administrative Officer Position
We are looking for an excellent communicator with strong organizational skills to join our team and contribute to our work. To thrive in this role, the candidate needs to be able to work across a range of different tasks at one time. We need a self-motivated individual who can develop effective systems, pay attention to detail, and analyze data for strategic decision-making. Communications
The primary function is to develop and maintain engaging content to communicate our work to external audiences. This will include:
Documenting our work through compelling pictures, videos, and stories
Writing blog posts, newsletters, and social media updates to engage our online community
Contributing to the creation of fundraising materials
Managing donor relationships through tracking donor retention metrics, sending personalized thank you messages, and reengaging lapsed donors
Generating reports to analyze audience engagement and trends to make strategic decisions in communications
Managing internal communications with partner schools
Administration
The primary function is to support the team in entering, organizing, and maintaining all records and reports. This includes:
Entering and filing the data received from the staff and partner schools to track project activities
Keeping detailed records of library attendance, lost books, and resources borrowed by individuals and schools
Maintaining a donation log and equipment inventory for efficient resource management
Creating, updating, and maintaining donor entries on Bloomerang
Generating reports to monitor and evaluate program effectiveness
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies, Mass Communication, Economics, Education, or other related programs
3-5 years of proven experience working in communications, administration, and community development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in donor management and graphic designing
Proficiency in computers, specifically Microsoft Office
Takes initiative, detail-oriented, and works independently
Flexible attitude and a desire to learn
A good team player
