Purpose of the job
To market and service Liberty Life Insurance Zambia financial solutions (products, technology, and services) to meet the new business sales and customer retention targets
To identify attractive new market segments, and to develop these in conjunction with the MD and the Liberty Africa Insurance team.
Key Responsibilities
- To Identify, approach, and effectively manage potential leads and call plans using the current database, Stanbic Bank relationships, affinity partner relationships, and broker relationships to ensure the delivery of the new business and customer retention targets.
- To proactively identify new affinity and alternative distribution channels to grow market share and create shareholders’ value
- To develop and execute a marketing plan to achieve the revenue and channel growth objectives
- To develop marketing collateral and new products in conjunction with management and Liberty Group to improve the competitive positioning and promote the brand value of Liberty Life Insurance Zambia in terms of products and technology services.
- To establish, maintain, and enhance new and existing business relationships to ensure increased shareholder value
- To ensure end to end on-boarding of new business secured
- To develop and train all Liberty Life Insurance Zambia contracted brokers, bank staff, other distribution partners, and Liberty Life staff on Liberty Life Insurance Zambia products, procedures, and technology services through marketing presentations and training.
- To keep up to date with competitor information and market trends to identify new business opportunities and to contribute towards the development of competitive new products and the enhancement of existing products.
- To actively promote and participate in living the Liberty Life Insurance Zambia brand values, vision, and interpretation thereof to continuously build and maintain effective, proactive, and collaborative team relationships.
- If required, to act as Principal Officer for Liberty Life Insurance Zambia and perform all duties in this regard as governed by Insurance legislation.
Key requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Marketing or Business degree or equivalent in commerce
- Hold a diploma in Insurance Studies, its equivalent or better
Experience
- At least 7 years of experience in the financial services industry – preferably in the Zambian Long Term Insurance market
- A strong network in the Zambian market
- Training and Development experience may be advantageous

- Demonstrate a good understanding of the Insurance Act, including the role of a broker
