Ciheb-Zambia is a non-profit local Zambian organisation supporting Ministry of Health to scale up comprehensive HIV prevention and testing services and find the best solutions to life threatening situations among communities in Zambia.
Position Summary
He/she will support the Program Director in providing expert technical guidance on HIV prevention strategies, ensuring that program activities are evidence based and aligned with global best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide expert technical guidance on HIV prevention strategies, focusing on adolescent and young women populations.
Ensure that program activities are evidence-based and aligned with global best practices in HIV prevention.
Conduct thorough reviews of existing literature, research findings, and emerging trends in HIV prevention among adolescent and young women.
Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement innovative and effective HIV prevention interventions.
Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of HIV prevention programs targeting adolescent and young women.
Provide training and capacity-building support to program staff and partners on HIV prevention approaches and methodologies.
Liaise with stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations, to promote coordination and collaboration in HIV prevention efforts.
Contribute to the development of technical documents, reports, and publications related to HIV prevention programming.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
MBChB or its equivalent or health related degree, with a Master’s degree in a medical related field or public health.
Experience:
Expertise in HIV prevention strategies, particularly among adolescent girls and young women populations with at least 5 years’ experience in HIV programming.
Strong understanding of evidence-based approaches to HIV prevention and experience in applying global best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data and information.
Proven experience in program design, implementation, and monitoring, preferably in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
Experience in providing technical assistance and capacity-building support to diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages, especially those spoken in the target region, is an advantage.

Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites as required.
