About our Client:
Lusaka Golf Club is Zambia’s most prestigious sporting facility attracting a cross section of golfing Zambians and visiting nationalities. It is a popular club with over 600 members. The club has entered into an arrangement with developers to overhaul the course, and the club and construct a hotel and related entertainment facilities on the property.
About the role:
Lusaka Golf Club is actively searching for a proficient individual to join its team as a General Manager. Someone with ambition and drive to supervise its developments and manage the modern Lusaka Golf Club. This position entails a three-year fixed-term contract, subject to renewal based on performance. The successful candidate will report directly to the Club Captain, with a dotted-line responsibility to the EXCO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the management and performance of the Golf Club operations and services; assuring high standards and customer satisfaction.
- Establishing operation procedures and ensuring proper hiring, training, supervising, employee development and corrective action per fair labor standards.
- Enforce and maintain all health, safety, security and environment regulations at the club.
- Overseeing Club marketing initiatives including all promotional materials, and outside events.
- Overseeing the management of all food and beverage needs, outside events and catering for all functions.
- Enforcing all rules and regulations established at the club.
- Overseeing all fiscal areas and performance for the club including planning budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and correction.
- Managing cash flow and adhering to budget.
- Preparing annual operating budgets and capital expense forecasts.
- Adhering to requirements of statutory and applicable taxes.
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Business Administration or similar
- Knowledge and love for the game of golf will be an added advantage
- A hospitality background will be considered an added advantage
- A team player with good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Strong and proven administrative leadership skills
- Ability to manage diverse team members in different roles
Compensation:
The incumbent will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
