Our client, whose mandate is to enhance safety and improve standards of service provision in the Zambian Air space is looking to hire a Human Resource Manager to join their team. The Human Resource Manager will assist the Director Human Resources by coordinating and efficiently managing human resources activities aimed at promoting and maintaining conducive industrial harmony and provision of other services to retain skilled and experienced labor.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Strategic planning
- Conduct research and provide data on wage/salary structures to ensure existing remuneration policy and procedures are in accordance with the competitive rates of pay and conditions of service offered by other organizations.
- Execute and maintain up to date manpower plans and programs through apt succession planning and manpower forecasting in order to maintain the required establishment levels.
Operational planning and budgeting
- Prepare draft Human Resources Budget for submission to Director Human Resources for incorporation in the Corporate Budget.
- Conduct efficient manpower audits to ensure accurate and up to date manpower records.
Training
- Execute training and development programs in order to provide the organization with required skill mix and experienced manpower.
- Coordinate Performance Appraisals in order to ensure enhanced performance as well as to establish training needs.
- Follow-up progress on employees undertaking training and development programs and appraise superior to ensure attainment of intended objectives.
Resourcing
- Conduct recruitment formalities and participate in final selection to ensure quality manpower is retained.
- Co-ordinate the induction of new entrants to acquaint them on the operations of the corporation.
Administration
- Compile accurate and timely human resources reports from Airports into a composite report for the Director and other Management officials’ use.
- Co-ordinate health medical facilities to all employees and their dependents in order to maintain a healthy workforce.
Business performance Management
- Liaise with statutory bodies to ensure Human Resources policies are in conformity with relevant labour provisions.
Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or any Social Science. A Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
- Must have a Grade Twelve Certificate with 5 O’ Level Credits including English and Mathematics.
- Should have five years’ work experience at Senior Human Resource Officer level.
- Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management
- Should have good Negotiation Skills.
- Should be conversant with Labour Laws.
