Responsibilities
- Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reports. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Accounts Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliation and reconcile accounts payable and receivable statements. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting: Preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Compile and analyse financial data to support client’s decision-making.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with tax-related activities, such as ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining accurate tax records.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting procedures. Streamline workflows and automate repetitive tasks where possible.
- Compliance and Regulations: Stay up to date with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external reporting requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as Tax, HR and BTS, to ensure accurate financial data and facilitate smooth business processes.
- Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to junior team members. Share accounting knowledge and best practices to foster professional development.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Previous experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role.
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
- Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance would be an added benefit.
