The role of Business Development Officer ensures that all Business Development initiatives and operations are executed successfully in pursuit of developing a sustainable, profitable and loyal customer base in the Zambia market. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, executing and evaluating the ROI of all business development initiatives to attract, retain and expand a loyal client base.
Reporting to: Senior Events Consultant
Key responsibilities include:
Approaching, qualifying and developing new customers into key customers.
Devising strategies to increase business with current/ existing customers.
Conducting regular customer visits and coordinating after sales support.
Attending to customer queries expeditiously
Meeting sales targets set by Management.
Execution of Marketing Strategy and Plans
Evaluating and critically analysing all events following their delivery, including seeking customer feedback
Overseeing the designing and production of all marketing collateral, promotion, and adverts
Liaising with clients from the beginning to the end and attending the event to ensure that it goes smoothly.
Actively participating in training and development programs and maximizing opportunities for self-development
Responsible for all project and event budgets from the beginning to the end
Responsible for the satisfaction of clients or customers by ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery.
Developing good working relationships with event organizers at local/international companies in order to get meetings, annual dinners, functions bookings, etc. for the purpose of boosting company profits.
Preparing proposals for clients and maintaining well-organized event records
Maintaining working relationships with internal and external partners and holding these relationships to deliver innovative and memorable events.
Making prospecting calls and maintaining event records.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales or relevant.
3 years’ experience in a similar role in the events industry.
Must posses’ excellent communication, organizational, and accountability skills, along with resilience and attention to detail.
Must be conversant with Microsoft Office.
