Purpose of the role:
To inspect and repair electrical systems and to carry out planned and preventative maintenance tasks on electrical equipment and systems on the electrical mining fleet.
Reports to: Mechanical Coordinator
Branch: Kalumbila
Key Responsibilities:
The Auto Electrician will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Analyze and interpret technical schematic diagrams.
- Attend to breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize machine downtime.
- Identify and diagnose issues with machinery electrical systems.
- Fix damaged electrical components and parts.
- Use digital diagnostic equipment to identify issues.
- Provide reliable service and support and exceptionally high standard of technical support to the customers.
- Service, repair, and replace faulty wiring and electrical components and systems.
- Provide technical support to customers (verbal and physical) to ensure products operate continuously.
- Capture daily tasks on job cards.
- Ensure queries concerning machinery are quickly and efficiently attended to.
- Always Comply with safety policies and regulations.
- Perform additional duties or responsibilities assigned by the service manager.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a full Grade 12 certificate.
- Craft Certificate in Auto Electrical or better.
- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience.
- Full Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
