Assets and Procurement Assistant ARC Power Zambia

ARC Power, a prominent UK-based organisation expanding across East and Southern Africa, is recruiting an Assets and Procurement Assistant (APA). You’ll report directly to the Operations Manager and fulfil duties necessary for ARC Power’s operations. As a member of the local Assets and Procurement Team, overseen by the Operations Manager, you’ll handle procurement, customs clearance, and asset maintenance.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate for this role should have strong attention to detail, be reliable, and capable of multitasking to effectively maintain ARC Power’s assets. Experience in administrative tasks and database management is crucial as most of the workload involves ensuring the accuracy of ARC Power’s asset management system. Additionally, familiarity with supply chain management or an understanding of customs processes is necessary to streamline ARC Power’s procurement and importation procedures. We are seeking a highly organised and responsible individual who can consistently deliver excellence in asset management and procurement tasks.

Duties:

Local Procurement and Customs Clearances:

  • Assist in sourcing quotes and maintaining supplier database for local materials and equipment.
  • Aid in importation process, coordinating with import agents and ensuring smooth customs clearance.
  • Assist in recording asset movements and maintaining accurate paper trail.
    Support stock audit process, preparing documentation and resolving discrepancies.
  • Manage material and equipment readiness for deployment, including repairs and maintenance.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and security of ARC Power’s sites and offices.
  • Manage waste collection and disposal process, ensuring compliance with environmental policies.
  • Assist in reporting and rectifying breaches in waste management process.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in office environment.
  • Pursuing or attained qualification in business administration.
  • Proficient in database skills (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Good command of English language.

Desirable:

  • Experience in asset management systems and supply chain operations.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Full (car) driving licence.
