Main Purpose of Job:
The IT Manager is responsible for the supervision, implementation, and maintenance of entire organisation’s computing needs. The Manager ensures the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware, and software and liaises between staff and managed services providers to ensure resolution of more technically complex issues in accordance with the IT policy, procedures including service levels agreements.

Key Responsibilities
Main Activities
Strategy and Planning
- Contribute to the development of the Corporate strategy
- Support with the development of Innovations and IT strategies and plans and forecasting growth projections;
- Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives and;
Short- and long-range IT planning, with an emphasis on advocating for the needs of the area(s) supported.
IT support services
- Provide first-line support to end-users for all IT equipment including laptops printers, servers or mainframe applications, and hardware through troubleshooting;
- Prepare equipment for deployment and provide education and/or training were needed;
- Develop streamlined processes to resolve operating difficulties and recommends system modifications to improve performance were needed;
- Perform software installations on organisations computers and configures applications as specified;
- Assist in the evaluation of technical problems, recommend vendor packages, and implement required software
- Perform hardware diagnostics for company IT equipment and maintain partnerships with manufacturers and vendors and;
- Providing technical support for the internal financial accounting systems.
Security Maintenance
- Work with initiative teams to understand their data flows and operations to help identify what systems can assist with both efficiency and security (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Forms, Flow etc.);
- Manage, monitor, and remediate end user security issues and needs using tools such as Central Encryption services; and
- Initiate investigations into ICT security incidents, monitor and report any breach of established ICT policies and procedures.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with the service providers and;
- Liaise with networking services, software systems, and applications as appropriate for problem resolution.
Governance Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure that all activities within the department are fully aligned with the organization’s IT Policy, Procedures and Practices;
- Develop and implement robust IT controls, ensuring adherence by all departments and;
- Assess and mitigate IT risks.
Knowledge Management, Learning and Sharing
- Documents solutions to common problems and responses to frequently asked questions and;
- Maintain IT inventory management for all IT equipment and/or software in accordance with company policy and procedures.
Training and Coaching
- Establish positive relationships by demonstrating a sense of urgency in interactions with both internal and external clients and;
- Provide new user ICT induction and Information Security trainings.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Competence at Management level is required to understand and apply advanced policies, practices, procedures, concepts, and principles
General Education
- Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
Professional/Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, or a related field.
- Professional and valid membership to relevant professional body (ZIICT)
Relevant Job Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ post qualifying experience in a cross-cultural environment institution at management level providing end-user support on current ICT equipment and application software OR installing, upgrading,
troubleshooting, and repairing personal computers in a network environment.
Experience in providing support in management of financial accounting systems such as SAGE.
