ROLE AND PURPOSE
The Cargo Security GPS Tracking department plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient transportation of client’s commodities. The Department is currently seeking to hire a reliable and detail-oriented GPS Control Room Operator to join our team and contribute to the smooth operation of the department. The prospective candidates will oversee and maintain GPS tracking devices to guarantee the timely and safe delivery of our customers from their mining sites to other locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure optimum performance and management of the GPS.
- Monitor the GPS to ensure a smooth flow of traffic from the loading point to the final destination.
- Immediately report haulage vehicular stoppages/breakdowns/route deviations to the respective Security Supervisors.
- Constantly monitor and immediately report faults/malfunctions/defects with the GPS.
- Write and submit reports as required/instructed by the superior.
- Collaborate with the transportation team to optimize routes, improve efficiency, and enhance overall transportation operations.
- Generate and maintain accurate records of tracking data, incidents, and resolutions for
reporting purposes. - Monitor GPS tracking systems in real-time to track the location and movement of vehicles and the return of units to their home base.
- Respond promptly to alerts and notifications generated by the tracking systems.
- Coordinate with drivers and field teams to address incidents and ensure timely resolutions
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 certificate with five O Levels
- 22 years and above
- Minimum of Diploma in Computer Science or any related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel (especially with Micro and formulas), Microsoft Power Query & PowerPoint).

- Excellent attention to detai
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask effectively.
