Job Purpose:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing all accounting operations for Palmridge Properties Limited’s portfolio, including property acquisitions, dispositions, and management. This role requires a strong understanding of real estate financials, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments. The ideal candidate must have strong accounting skills, experience in real estate, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

– Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to facilitate decision-making.

– Generate and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income

statements, and cash flow statements.

– Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and reports.

2. Internal Controls:

– Undertake effectively the development and implementation of internal controls in order to enhance transparency and accountability in the utilization of financial and material resources.

3. Cash Flow Management:

– Manage daily cash flow and prepare cash flow projections.

– Ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs and capital expenditures.

4. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

– Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes for all transactions.

– Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices and collection of receivables.

– Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.

5. Budgeting and Forecasting:

– Assist in the preparation of property budgets and forecasts.

– Monitor and report on budget variances.

– Provide financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

6. Payments:

– Undertake effectively the processing of payments in order to meet obligations.

7. Payroll:

– Undertake effectively payroll computations in order to facilitate the payment of

personnel related obligations

8. Tax Compliance:

– Responsible for the overall tax declaration and management, including VAT, INCOME TAX, NHIMA, NAPSA, etc., including but not limited to monthly, quarterly and annual tax declaration, familiarity with tax policies, statistical data submission, tax inspection, etc.

9. Audit and Compliance:

– Coordinate and support annual audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.

– Ensure compliance with accounting standards and real estate regulations.

10. Systems and Process Improvement:

– Utilize accounting software and systems for efficient financial management.

– Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

– Stay updated on industry best practices and accounting standards.
