PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS
A leading Lusaka based Private co-educational, School, seeks the services of Primary School Teachers. It is a co-educational International School with children from Early Years, Primary through to grade seven (7), with both day and boarding students.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred candidates must be reflective, passionate and highly creative with experience of successful teaching at Primary school level and a wider understanding of current educational curriculum issues.
SPECIFICATIONS
1. Certified Full Grade 12 Certificate with five `O` levels inclusive of Mathematics and Science
2. Primary School Teaching Diploma or Degree
3. Traceable history of teaching in a Private School
4. Minimum of five years’ teaching Experience in a private school,
5. Updated Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) Practicing License
6. Three traceable and reliable referees
7. Conversant with ISAZ (Independent Schools Association of Zambia) co-curricular programs
JOB SPECIFICATION DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, AMONG OTHERS:
1. Teaching lower and upper Primary school learners
2. Plans and prepares lesson plans, schemes and Records work and submits in accordance with administrative guidelines
3. Oversees and facilitates the general safety of the classroom environment and its activities to include outside play.
4. Interacts with children through instructional methods to include play, music, arts and crafts, reading, writing, science, and physical activities.
5. Assists children in completing assigned projects and enhancing learning skills.
6. Termly year planners and individual work plans
7. Fortnightly, Mid-Term and Termly tests and examinations
8. Conduct School Based Assessment (SBA) for the learners
JOB PURPOSE
1. To plan, develop and deliver high quality lessons using a variety of approaches, to continually enhance teaching and learning.
2. Demonstrate a proficiency in teaching targeted subjects in the ECZ Primary
3. Innovative and proactive in initiating co-curricular programs and academic competitions
4. Implement new initiatives, Academic, local or national, by adapting classroom procedures accordingly, monitoring progress and reflecting on pedagogical outcomes.
5. To co-coordinate out of school club activities
6. Knowledge and experience in lesson delivery using online platforms
7. Keep up-to-date with research and developments in pedagogy in the subject area.
8. Keep up-to-date with technological change and the use of technology to enhance delivery, and student access, to the subject.
9. Oral and good written Communication Skills
10. Family / Child Relations with good listening skills
11. Mathematics Aptitude, creative/ artistic abilities
12. Organization, planning, and good time management
