About the role:

Our Client is in the field of corporate assessments and corporate training for human capital development and is looking for a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets, and operations of the local business unit. The General Manager’s responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people, and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a self starter and a thoughtful business leader. The role also requires a confident decision-maker who can help our people develop and grow to become an effective and efficient team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the organisation
  • Responsible for tracking financial metrics – revenue generation and cost-effectiveness.
  • Consolidate, systematise, and automate business processes.
  • Be the face of the business to the customer. Follow up with them on how we are providing services to their satisfaction.
  • Performance and team management
  • Create and maintain a dashboard in the office and online of business KPIs
  • Design strategy and set goals for growth
  • Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
  • Set policies and processes
  • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
  • Prepare regular reports for upper management
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BSc/BA in Business or relevant field;
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
  • Startup/Entrepreneurial Mindset
  • Critical thinking and making tough business and people decisions timely.
  • Experience in planning and budgeting
  • Knowledge of business processes and functions (finance, HR, operations, etc.)
  • Data collection and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
