About the role:

RTW Shipping & Logistics is looking for a high-performing, ambitious and self-driven Shipping Sales Manager to join their team. As a Shipping Sales Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing sales and distribution strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and experience in air freight, sea freight, land freight and custom clearance
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales operations
  • Generate leads through cold calling, networking and referrals.
  • Utilize inside sales knowledge.
  • Quote formal and spot bids.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction- maintain close contact with all customers– including follow up on concerns.
  • Communicate customer problems to management.
  • Exceed all standards for prospecting calls, presentations, proposals and closes.
  • Provide documented activity reports of sales efforts on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Execute and monitor strategic and tactical goals to maximize sales, profit and to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
  • Negotiate contracts and rate agreements.
  • Document issues with orders thoroughly.
  • Plan and implement overall sales strategy
  • Set sales KPIs
  • Prepare and present KPI reports
  • Suggest solutions for process optimization
  • Negotiate better pricing
  • Identify sales issues and implement solutions in a timely manner
  • Create and present reports for upper management

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BA in Business, supply chain, logistics or similar relevant field
  • Years of experience as a Sales Manager or similar role
  • Knowledge of logistics operations and shipping procedures and documents
  • Hands on experience in budgeting and reporting
  • Good leadership skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

Compensation:

The incumbent will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
