JOB TITLE: REGIONAL GENERAL MANAGER (ZAMBIA, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO AND MALAWI)
LOCATION: FLEXIBLE WITHIN THE SPECIFIED REGIONS -HOME BASE IS ZAMBIA.
Position Overview
Our client is looking for a Regional General Manager to lead operations and strategic initiatives in the inspection and commodity trading industry. The ideal candidate should be a dynamic leader passionate about driving excellence and ensuring high performance and compliance across various locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Business Development:
-Formulate and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to increase revenue and expand the market in Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Malawi.
-Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and market sectors to enhance the company’s market position and financial success.
-Lead negotiations with important clients, partners, and stakeholders to secure new business agreements and contracts.
-Take market research, competitor scrutiny, and industry evaluations to pinpoint avenues for growth and possible hazards.
2. Operational Excellence:
– Enhance group operations by optimizing processes, systems, and resources to increase efficiency and productivity.
-Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance, identify areas for enhancement, and promote operational excellence.
-Enforce best practices and standards to guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
-Collaborate closely with department heads to synchronize operational activities with strategic goals and encourage cross-functional teamwork.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
– Cultivate and sustain robust connections with pivotal stakeholders, such as governmental entities, regulatory authorities, clientele, affiliates, and community groups.
-Advocate for the organization in external gatherings, functions, and symposiums to advance the company’s objectives, bolster its standing, and nurture favourable associations.
-Attend to stakeholder apprehensions, input, and questions promptly and with sophistication to uphold confidence and amicability.
-Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to capitalize on synergies, pinpoint collaborative prospects, and propel shared value generation
Qualification & Skills
-Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) can be advantageous.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in management roles, particularly in multi-location or regional operations.
-Proven track record of managing teams and achieving business objectives.
-Understanding of the specific industry and market in which the company operates.
-Knowledge of local regulations, market trends, and competitor activity
-Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
