Brief Project Background – Improving and Sustaining the Gains for HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis project.
The YWCA, working with the Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ) and Expanded Church Response with financial support from the Global Fund is implementing a project with a primary focus on adolescents including persons with disabilities (PWDs) focusing on interventions aimed at enhancing HIV prevention, communication, information and creating demand for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYWs) in Chibombo and Chisamba districts of Central Province which are high incidence districts. In addition to this, implementation of the project will also include management of a temporal house of safety for Gender Based Violence survivors in Namwala district. The YWCA therefore invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following positions to be stationed in Namwala district.
1. SECURITY GUARD –x 2
Reporting to: Shelter Manager
Location: Namwala
Roles and Responsibilities;
- Ensure YWCA property and individual property is protected.
- No unauthorized entry into the shelter
- Ensure that all records and registers for security inquiries are updated, visitors and drivers sign the log book, and ensure the log book is kept properly and secure.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively to the Shelter Manager on all matters related to theft and emergencies reported
- Report immediately all incidents that occur during day or night shifts to the Shelter Manager.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Desired Qualifications and competences:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- At least three (3) years of experience working in a related field
- Experience in working with CSOs/NGOs
- Fluency in written and spoken English and local languages widely spoken in the district of assignment
- Experience working for an international non-government organization is an advantage
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
