JOB OPPORTUNITY

Luanshya Technical and Business College under the Ministry of Technology and Science is looking for a sober and qualified person to fill the following non-academic position: INTERNAL AUDITOR (01 position)

JOB PURPOSE

To enable the Board( through the audit committee and the Principal) discharge its oversight role by monitoring and evaluating on a continuous basis the adequacy and effectiveness of the college’s network of risk management, control and governance processes.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. To strengthen financial and non-financial controls in order to enhance the achievements of the College objectives and report periodically to the Principal and the Audit Committee of the college Management Board;

2. Develops and executes internal audit plans, which are aligned with LTBC’s risk assessment;

3. Obtain, review and evaluate internal procedures and supporting documentation to ensure that they provide an effective control system and to identify weakness, if any;

4. To assist in follow-up of action items emanating from the Audit Committee meetings;

5. To coordinate all audit activities to ensure an efficient audit coverage that responds to college goals;

6. Carry out Adhoc audit reviews to investigate any areas identified by management and;

7. To issue detailed reports to Management on review of business systems and their compliance with all applicable policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations relating to academics and administration functions,

8. To support external auditors by coordinating their information requirements;

9. Advice Management on the rational utilization of resources, provide timely analysis/guidance on risk assessment and evaluation of controls established by Management;

10. To oversee the execution of due diligence reviews, fraud or special investigations and other related tasks when required by the College Principal;

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

1. Grade 12 full Certificate with at last 5 “O’ level credits that includes Mathematics and English language;

2. Holder of a Degree in Accountancy/ACCA/ZICA/CIMA or equivalent;

3. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in internal Auditing and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors or IIA Global;

4. Must be well vested with government and training college operations;

5. Preferably thirty five (35) years and above;

6. Must be computer literate;

7. Good interpersonal skills, Integrity, honesty, ethical values, professional conduct and soberness of character.
