Position: Stock Controller
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Are you organized, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to a dynamic team? Okavango Foods Limited is looking for a dedicated Stock Controller to manage and maintain our inventory, ensuring smooth and efficient store operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Receive and meticulously record all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality.
- Organize and store inventory using optimal warehouse management practices, considering factors such as product type, expiration dates, and accessibility.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits, reconciling physical stock with ERP system data.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during stock counts.
ERP System Management:
- Proficiently manage work orders within the ERP system.
- Record all stock movements in real time, including receipts, transfers, and dispatches.
- Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and potential issues.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control protocols for all stored items.
- Maintain compliance with food safety standards, including proper storage temperatures and handling procedures.
- Conduct regular safety checks on storage facilities and equipment.
Order Fulfillment:
- Efficiently prepare and process internal department orders.
- Pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders with high accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with the shipping department to ensure smooth order logistics.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and propose improvements to inventory management processes.
- Participate in implementing new technologies or systems to enhance efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all inventory-related activities.
- Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, turnover rates, and other key metrics.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels.
- Assist in training new team members on inventory management procedures.
Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to handle and report any inventory-related emergencies, such as product recalls or storage facility issues.
Qualifications:
- Full grade 12 certificate with merit in English and Mathematics.
- Diploma/Certificate in Purchasing and Supply/Stores Management or its equivalent.
- Must be a registered member of ZIPS.
- Proven experience as a stock controller or in a similar role (2 years work experience).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Must be Lusaka-based.
- Must have a clean criminal record.
