Job Description

To develop and implement a strategy for Client Groups by leading and motivating a team to build strong and rewarding client relationships, bringing qualified opportunities to the product houses and collaborate with the product houses to ensure the conversion of these clients to the Bank. Develop a sector focused strategy in alignment with Government strategic sectors that grows the economy e.g., CFA, Resources, Oil and Gas, Infrastructure etc

Grow existing client base by cross selling and upselling to maintain and grow clients profitability to be their Primary Banker and banked through the Bank Ecosystem

Prioritise sectors that drive country economic growth and a balance to business strategic tilt to achieve business growth

Driving the growth of CIB products in the market and maintaining a strong presence in representing the interests of the various CIB teams.
This collaborating with other FirstRand Business units across the country as well as South Africa and Broader Africa
Once the strategy for the business has been determined and communicated, implementation of that strategy with critical inclusion of CIB’s African expansion plans will be expected.
Developing and maintaining an acceptable knowledge of the market and each of the Bank’s specific client activities and the value chains in each of the sub -industry sectors in which they operate.
Engaging with clients at both a strategic level and operational level as may be required to specifically drive deeper product penetration.
Identifying opportunities as a result of a deep client insight for the delivery of customised solutions across the CIB spectrum. This would be achieved by applying the principles of key account planning, industry and client value chain analysis and their respective implementations.
Developing and maintaining a strong partnership approach with Credit.
Actively developing strong client relationships with key decision makers, utilising the networking skills of the wider Africa and SA Coverage teams and senior FirstRand executives, where appropriate.
Servicing and managing product distribution and cross sell across the Tanzanian client base to maximise profits and ROE.
Monitoring performance of the client base and the growth of individual products within it.
Monitoring and managing the credit risks within the client base. This will involve participation in the relevant credit forums as it relates to origination and ongoing risk management including proactive management of irregular counterparties.
