Job Location: LCDA Office – Luangwa
Core Purpose: The core purpose of this position is to facilitate community engagement, build and strengthen local partnerships, enhance community and partner capacity, and strengthen community-led initiatives to improve and sustain the well-being of children and families. Overall, the PSC works collaboratively with the Manager on aspect of leadership, management and security of the programme and team.
Major Responsibilities:
Oversee the overall implementation of project(s) in consultation with the Manager and ensuring objectives are met within the required ChildFund Zambia time frame and budget. Where necessary ensure preventive and corrective action is taken according to the organizational standards.
Facilitate the planning and implementation of activities using recommended models, techniques, standards and tools to achieve output targets within scope of work, time, and budget.
Work closely with the M&E officer to ensure regular monitoring and evaluation assessments against project objectives are conducted and reports submitted timely.
Support relevant Project Manager(s) in day-to-day decision making as requested.
Facilitate and support local level advocacy in LCDA interventions for better service provision/delivery.
Ensure trainings in capacity building for staff, partners, community and other relevant stakeholders to improve quality in service delivery and effective implementation of activities.
Participate in documenting and sharing of programme lessons and promising practices with partners and stakeholders.
Regularly assess and provide feedback and recommendations on the quality of the programmes and interventions during field visits and at other relevant time.
Contribute to an ethos and culture of LCDA that are consistent with our Vision, Core Values, Guiding Beliefs, and Policies.
Qualifications, Experience and Skill
Grade twelve (12) Certificate
A university degree in Development Studies or related discipline, a Master’s degree will be an added advantage
Minimum three (3) years’ work experience in Community Development projects.
Demonstrated ability in organizing and facilitating groups.
Demonstrated experience in human relations is required.
Has a working knowledge of project management: project planning and management.
Sustainable Community development approaches; mobilization and capacity building.
Experience working with nongovernmental and community-based organizations.
Must be highly reliable and independent, able to work with minimal supervision under pressure.
Possess well-developed networking abilities, and be able to interact well with children, adult communities, Area staff, and parents
Dynamic and result oriented.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English; fluency in a local language is a must
Working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft word, PowerPoint and outlook
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work under minimum supervision
