Okavango Foods is renowned for providing top-quality finger foods, buffet services, and processed meats to corporates, households, and schools. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, we are expanding our menu offerings, particularly in pastries, hot dishes, and salads, and we need a dedicated Chef to help us meet the growing demand.
Key Responsibilities
As a Chef at Okavango Foods, you will:
Prepare and Cook: Create a diverse range of dishes with a focus on pastries, hot dishes, and salads, ensuring they meet our high standards for taste, quality, and presentation.
Food Safety Compliance: strictly adhere to food safety regulations, ensuring that all food is prepared, stored, and served in a manner that meets health and safety standards.
Timely Delivery: Ensure all dishes are prepared and ready for delivery according to the scheduled timelines, maintaining efficiency without compromising on quality.
Menu Collaboration: Work with the culinary team to develop and refine menu items, incorporating client feedback and keeping up with culinary trends.
Quality Assurance: Consistently maintain the quality and presentation of all dishes, ensuring they adhere to the company’s high standards.
Kitchen Operations: Assist in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and upholding cleanliness and food safety standards.
Team Support: Collaborate with kitchen staff and other departments to ensure smooth operations and a positive, productive work environment.
Reporting: Regularly report to management on kitchen performance, including quality control, food safety, and efficiency metrics. Qualifications
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a top hotel or a similar environment.
Specialization: Proven expertise in preparing pastries, hot dishes, and salads.
Skills: Strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Location: Must have own accommodation in Lusaka.
Availability: Must be ready to start immediately.
