About the role:
Our Client is looking for a responsible and professional individual to develop new, and support existing business through planning, administration and general external sales related issues, to achieve the business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and customer service
- Follow up on emails and calls by customers and closely manage the relationship with existing customers.
- Following up to the created leads and reporting back to internal Sales.
- Inform customers of any stock outs as a way of managing customer relations
- Strife towards achieving your monthly sales target and provide analysis of results, positive or negative.
- Develop an on time resolving of customer queries and complaints
- Identify dormant customers & revive
- Build external relationships that could add value to the business
- Evaluate opportunities and pursue new business outside of existing customer base wherever possible through application selling.
- Liaise with your management to make follow up calls to the potential customers identified.
- Maximise the sales basket of all products.
- Quantify the quotes made vs the closed deals.
- Weekly reporting on competitor activities to enhance own planning.
- Participate in promotional activities and / or sales drives in accordance with the strategy of the business division.
- Propose, prepare and participate in exhibitions/sales promotions.
Training & Development
- Upgrade your sales, customer management & telephone skill to enhance business performance
- Assist in training colleagues and customers to upgrade technical skills
Warehousing
- Full responsibility of the warehouse processes and activities
- Receipt of stock
- Inventory management
- Ensure security of warehouse
Dispatch Management
- Expediting Deliveries
- Follow up with the warehouse that on time loading of sales orders for the day is loaded on the system.
- Follow up with the warehouse: Track backorders, check stock availability and release all picking slips
- Follow up with warehouse: Inform the management of stock levels.
Health and Safety
- Carry out the health and safety risk assessments in the department company and report any concerns.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum Grade 12
- Minimum 3 years internal or external sales experience
- Customer management / technical / engineering qualification and/or experience an advantage
- Business qualification an advantage
- Warehousing experience
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of engineering principles and product application
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Computer literacy Microsoft package (Word, Excel, Project)
Syspro or equivalent ERP - Drivers License is a prerequisite
- Own car an advantage
