Main Purpose of the Positions
The position of Skills Instructor is responsible for the effective delivery of the specific training course programme in accordance with the TEVETA curricula with the objective of imparting knowledge and skills to learners in an effective and efficient manner.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Preparation of schemes of work and lesson plans in order to ensure effectiveness of training.
2. Deliver quality skills that transform the learners and students to contribute to National Development with tangible practical products.
3. Delivery of lessons, class assessments, research supervision, industrial attachments assessments effectively.
4. Maintain performance records in order to determine effectiveness of the level of learning.
5. Making sure that all Continuous Assessments (CAs) are timely submitted to the Examinations Officer for submission to the appropriate Examination Bodies.
6. Spearhead the development and review of syllabi in order to ensure efficiency and standardisation in delivery of training.
7. Ensure that lessons are delivered according to TEVETA guidelines and curricula.
8. Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the training programmes offered.
9. Able to mentor and tutor students with hands on practical methodology.
10. Participate in research and consultancy in the field in order to contribute to the body of knowledge and promote best practice.
11. Represent Chinsanshi skills being a Social Enterprise supported by ZOCS in all events in consultation with the principal and ZOCS Management and as per Teveta Standards.
12. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Principal or the Head of Department related to the course or centre.
Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience
1. Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) credits including English and Mathematics.
2. Diploma or equivalent in the relevant subject matter.
3. Certificate in Teaching Methodology
4. TEVETA Accredited Trainer and Examiner.
5. Experience and knowledge in class management.
6. Experience and knowledge in preparing lesson plans, schemes of work and records of work.
7. Understanding of full TEVETA operational guidelines and regulations.
8. Ability to translate the TEVET curricula.
9. Ability to communicate effectively and write reports in English
10. Proven record of working with Ministry of Education and TEVETA structures.
11. Local qualified Professionals are encouraged to apply for this role in Mungule Area.
