Wachi Milling Limited is a Zambian Company Domiciled in Mumbwa District of Central Zambia. The Company is specialized in Cooking Oil Production, Milling and Agro Dealership.
With support from United States African Development Foundation (USADF), Wachi Milling is scheduled to support Outgrowing of Sunflower among Smallholder Farmers in Mumbwa District. Based on this undertaking, Wachi Milling Ltd is looking for the services of the following:
1. Production Manager
Purpose:
Efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of products. Production Manager should also ensure production targets are achieved and that all Production processes are running smoothly and promptly.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage all inventory activities, including receiving, storage, and dispatching of raw materials and finished products. Implement and maintain inventory control systems to ensure accurate stock levels and reduce discrepancies.
Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile physical counts with system records.
Prepare and present regular reports on inventory levels, order fulfilment, and production performance to senior management.
Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize stock shortages and overages ensuring to provide staff with guidance, training and performance feedback.
Must be able to identify areas for process improvement, implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity at assigned location
Using real-time data collection to increase accuracy and lower labour costs
Maintaining computerized administration, stock inventory and retrieval systems
Oversee day-to-day production operations, including organizing storage areas, managing plant layout, and ensuring efficient use of space.
Ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of orders, coordinating with the procurement/logistics team to schedule shipments and deliveries of stock.
Implement best practices for production plant processes, including optimizing workflows and minimizing downtime.
Enforcing health standards, safety and security procedures
Enforcing company rules and regulations
Managing staff, building teams, training employees and monitoring production performance
Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure staff adhere to safety and operational guidelines. Foster a positive working environment and provide ongoing support and motivation to the team.
Communicating and interacting with clients, vendors, suppliers and customers
Overseeing logistics of receiving, warehousing and dispatch operations
Meeting regularly with Team members to assess, analyze and develop actionable plans for loss prevention and productivity.
Performing general maintenance of the machinery used in Production.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in edible oil processing, Inventory and Production Staff Management experience
- Diploma in Production Management, Laboratory Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3-5 years in a similar position in a processing Company required
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of warehousing/processing plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Leadership skills and ability manage staff
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
