EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
An Audit Firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Practitioner to join the firm. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO & Managing Partner and provide comprehensive legal services to the firm in insolvency matters. The role also involves offering legal advice to the firm in the areas of Tax and Consulting.
Job Title: Associate – Legal and Compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Insolvency Case Management:
Manage the legal aspects of insolvency cases. - Legal Research and Advisory:
Provide legal advice on insolvency law, compliance, and related matters. - Litigation Support:
Represent the firm in litigation, working with external counsel where necessary. - Document Drafting and Review:
Draft and review legal documents. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with clients, creditors, financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders during insolvency proceedings. - Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with service teams as required. - Compliance Oversight:
Ensure compliance with regulations, court orders, and company policies. - Client Communication:
Regularly update clients on case progress.
Required Skills and Qualifications Education:
Education:
- LLB.
- Successfully completed Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education Legal Practitioners Qualifying Examination.
Experience:
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role, (Experience in insolvency law will be an added advantage).
- Experience working with professional services firms is advantageous.
Technical Skills:
- Good understanding of corporate and tax law dynamics.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
Soft Skills
- Versatility.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
Certifications
- Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education LPQE.
