Assistant Compliance and Risk Officer (Maternity Cover) Goodfellow Digital Limited

Goodfellow Digital Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to be recruited as an Assistant Compliance & Risk Officer on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave for a period of between four to six months.

As the Assistant Compliance and Risk Officer, you will be responsible for assisting the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer with the administration , testing and dissemination of Compliance and Risk related information and documentation . You will also be required to partner with the business in the continuous assessment and identification of potential risks, evaluating these to ensure that they are appropriately mitigated through properly implemented policies, procedures, training, systems and controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to members of staff as needed regarding the interpretation and implementation of laws and regulations by the central bank and other regulatory bodies.
  • Assist key stakeholders to meet their compliance requirements including impact of new and changing regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist with the dissemination of compliance related materials and information.
  • Facilitating collaboration among department leaders to mitigate risks which originate in one department but impact multiple departments.
  • Ensure customers are screened for AML and Terrorist financing and their transactions are constantly monitored by operations department.
  • Review customers files for KYC compliance.
  • Review Various daily and monthly reports for suspicious transactions
  • Assist the Chief Officer in working with stake holders to create and implement mitigation plans to manage identified risks.
  • Monitor internal policies and procedure and oversee the revision, implementation and dissemination of new and updated policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer with the ongoing and formalised compliance training programmes including AML and Anti Terrorist financing.
  • Assist Chief Compliance and Risk Officer to conduct reviews of the risk register and update regularly and hold Risk owners accountable.
  • Follow up with departments to monitor the mitigation of risks.
    Monitor the sending of reports by departments to the central bank and other regulatory bodies.
  • Update register for signed SLAs and keep track of dates of expiry and required payments if any, and periods.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a B.Sc degree
  • Other higher/ relevant qualification(s) will be an advantage
  • A minimum of 1-year work experience in a similar role is a must.
    Previous experience in the fintech or bank will be a very strong advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Creativity and adaptability
  • Computer Proficiency is a must, most especially in Office suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
  • Ability to pay attention to details and excellent reporting skill
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Solid organizational skills, multitasking and time-management
