Site Manager Kalonga Logistics

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for accounting for all stocks on site through product receipts, transfers, sales, stock on hand and stock losses within the tolerance acceptable limits. Additionally, in charge of maintenance of technology and assets on site in safe working conditions and in accordance with the HSSE policies and guidelines.
The Site Manager is responsible for application of operation excellence, efficient stock operation, prudent cost management, safe receipt, storage and dispensing of quality product, without causing harm to the community and environment in which we operate.

MAIN DUTIES

a) Take safety as a personal responsibility and prevent accidents/incidents to achieve no harm to people, environment and equipment as per the site motto of ‘safety does not hurt but accidents do’.
b) Understand all the Kalonga HSE policies, procedures and guidelines and comply with all the requirements including Barrick HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines.
c) Inspect your work areas to look for hazards and review the trends from corrective actions reports for continual improvement.
d) Report all the incidents/accidents including near misses and injuries in your work area to your supervisor in accordance with the Kalonga Accidents/ Incidents reporting requirements.
e) Review the performed planned daily house-keeping inspection schedule, pre-start checks and other checklists in your area of responsibility.
f) Supervise the operations of the waste oil facility to enforce full compliance to the procedures that cover housekeeping, utilization and managing of waste inflows and outflows.
g) Supervise the operations of the Lubes Shed by verifying all the lubes products receipts, scrutinizing the integrity of the lubes issuing and conducting random stock count including the maintenance of good housekeeping.
h) Enforce operating procedures relating to product quality control procedures, refueling operations, that is equipment refueling and bowser loading and lubes stock management, covering off loading, stacking. Loading, storage and grease or oil dispensing or repacking.
i) Regularly interact and hold meetings with end users to understand and respond to the customer requirements or needs appropriately.
j) Implement and track all the corrective actions reported in the inspections for better customer service.
k) Participate in various HSE meetings and track corrective actions for implementation.
l) Plan the work shift schedules, staff off site breaks and monitor the execution of the planned activities, including the identification of resources, materials, and equipment needed for uninterrupted service to the customer, and support them to prevent production loss.
m) Participate in periodical physical conditions inspections, carry out risk assessments and MAIP for the workplace and equipment, and implement mitigation to close the identified gaps.
n) Continuously evaluate staff performance and competencies and ensure skill upgrade through training and retraining on operational tasks.
o) Monitor the stock quantity and quality at all the sites for both fuel and lubes and trigger replenishment of stock as per the contractual threshold agreed with the customer.
p) Facilitate credible stock reconciliations including inspection of all stock documents.
q) Investigate in transit, working, conversion losses or gains for the fuel and lubes in order to ensure that the gains and losses are within tolerable levels, be in position to understand and explain any abnormal possible gains and losses.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Education background

  • Engineer or Accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ZICA) professional stage or final

Competencies and experience

  • 3 years’ experience in operations with management or supervisory skills
  • Ability to work with diverse teams including senior management and third parties.
  • Sound knowledge on HSSE Management
  • Product Quality Knowledge
  • Good Communication and interpersonal Relationship skills
  • Mature and wise decision making
  • Driving Skills
