Site Supervisor Kalonga Logistics

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Site Supervisor assists the Site Manager and is responsible for enforcement of the Kalonga HSE policies and programs, sound maintenance of the depot yard, premises and product security, product quality assurance processes, stock processes, reconciliation and investigations, sound management of equipment maintenance compliance and custody of materials and documents

MAIN DUTIES

a) Take safety as a personal responsibility and prevent accidents/incidents to achieve no harm to people, environment, and equipment as per the site motto of safety does not hurt but accidents do.
b) Understand all the Kalonga HSSE policies, procedures and guidelines and comply with all the requirements including barrack HSE policies, procedures and guidelines in order to comply with these requirements and achieve operational excellence.
c) Inspect your work areas in order to look for hazards and report all hazards to your immediate supervisor including receiving all site hazards from all the different sources.
d) Report all the incident/accidents including near misses and injuries in your work areas to your supervisor in accordance with the Kalonga accident/incident reporting requirements including participating in the accident investigations.
e) Perform a planned daily house-keeping and pre-start inspections around depot yard, to ensure orderly maintenance of the entire depot.
f) Review the fuel issuing slips for the relevant data completeness, integrity and meter reconciliation including monitoring the process of taking sales densities and temperatures for conversions to 20 degrees.
g) Co-ordinate the sampling process of draining bowsers and subsequent loading of bowsers for transfers and sales.
h) Co-ordinate the sampling process and sample records, collect samples all the sites, reconcile the sample records, dispatch the sample batches for independent tests, and follow through the receipts of the sample results and review sample result for further action.
i) Perform HSE checks relating to driver R5 parking area housekeeping, PPE, truck integrity and BVO induction and manage the movement of the transporter trucks whilst on site.
j) Enforce the security control procedure to ensure control of people, equipment and goods in the depot and also ensure that all the products and equipment within the depot premises are secured.
k) Enforce depot operating procedures on product receipt, storage and handling to ensure sound compliance to good stock management practice.
l) Investigate any in-transit and working gains and losses in order to ensure that the gains and losses are within tolerable levels and explain/justify any abnormal gains.
m) Custody of stock management apparatus, materials and documents to ensure good continuous tracking, accountability and availability of the apparatus, materials and documents.
n) Tracking all documents relating to contractor and supplier payments and liaises with the senior technician to ensure that payment documents are processed timely.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Education background

  • On the job training – 2 years’ experience in busy Kalonga operations depot
  • Diploma in Business or a technical field

Competencies and experience

  • 2 years’ experience in operations with management or supervisory skills
  • Ability to work with diverse teams including senior management and third parties.
  • Sound knowledge on HSSE Management
  • Product Quality Knowledge
  • Good Communication and interpersonal Relationship skills
  • Mature and wise decision making
  • Driving Skills
  • Analytical skills
