The Job entails being responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing large machinery, vehicles, and equipment typically used in mining and construction industry. The equipment includes but not limited to; Dump truck 540; Dump trucks 430, Loader 514, DD422i, DS421 and other heavy machinery.
Job description
The Heavy-Duty Repair Mechanic performs maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment and machinery to ensure they are safe, functional, and reliable. This includes troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing regular inspections, and replacing parts when needed. The mechanic works closely with operators to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
Qualifications and preferences
Academic Qualification: Full Grade 12 certificate
Professional Qualification: Advanced certificate in Electrical or Diploma in Electrical.
Experience: 3+ years of experience as an Electrician. Underground experience is an added advantage. Valid silicosis certificate. Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of computer and software is desirable.
Work Conditions: Ability to work in various environments such as underground and open cast.
