A reputable Financial Lending Institution is seeking the services of an Accountant, the incumbent will be the overall point of contact for all accounts concern and will work hand in hand with the sales and administrative teams. The accountant will report to the Finance Director and the responsibilities will be:
- Initiating payments and preparing payment vouchers.
- Handling petty cash and preparing petty cash vouchers.
- Preparing statutory reports and submissions.
- Updating and maintaining the asset register.
- Updating and maintaining the debtors’ and creditors’ age analysis.
- Preparing and maintaining general ledger accounts.
- Reconciling bank accounts weekly.
- Preparing and uploading bank deductions on banking platforms.
- Preparing and submitting payroll deduction files.
- Preparing and submitting PMEC files.
- Assisting in the preparation and validation of client statements.
- Preparing weekly cash flow reports and reporting to directors.
- Complying with financial policies and regulations.
- Monitoring the loan system daily to ensure data integrity.
- Reviewing sales reports and ensuring all branches balance cash before closing.
- Conducting routine audits in branches.
- Performing any other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
- Proficient in accounting software.
- Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Form V or Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 ‘O’ level credits, including Mathematics and English.
- Professional qualification in CA Zambia, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Must be a fully paid-up member of ZICA.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in finance.
- Experience in banking or the financial sector is an added advantage.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting from a reputable institution is an added advantage.
