Tongabezi Trust School is an Independent School with over 280 children from preschool to Grade 9. Special Education Teacher
We seek the services of an enthusiastic, qualified and experienced person to take up an exciting job as a Special Education Teacher.
Minimum Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of and the ability to implement a variety of effective teaching methods including literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to modify the curriculum to ensure that it is accessible to students with learning disabilities.
- Thorough understanding of policies, laws, and guidelines related to special education
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Computer literate
- Must be patient and passionate about learning disability inclusion
Required Education and Experience:
- Diploma in Special Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education will be an added advantage
- Grade 12 certificate
- Appropriate Special Education and Teaching Council Practicing Certifications are required.
- Not less than three years of direct experience in handling Primary School pupils with learning challenges (dysgraphia, dyslexia and dyscalculia)
