Qualified Auto Electrician with Networking Systems Experience
Introduction
We are looking for a qualified Auto Electrician with networking systems experience to be part of our dynamic team, growing our footprint in the Southern Africa industry. This position will be based out of Solwezi or Kalumbila in the North-Western Province of Zambia; however, it will be expected of you to travel where and when required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for fault finding and diagnosing auto electrical issues on yellow earthmoving equipment, mining trucks, and equipment
- Perform necessary repairs, maintenance, and inspections to ensure the effective operation of the mining fleet
- Communicate effectively and work well as part of a team or independently
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times
Key Competencies
- Knowledge of workshop procedures and safety standards
- Familiarity with electronically controlled vehicle management systems
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills
- Effective communication skills
- Familiar with the latest CANBUS technology and computer-based network devices (e.g., tracking devices, camera systems, monitoring devices, network switches)
- Experience in harness repairs and complete rebuilds
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to carry out electrical and mechanical repairs on systems and components
- Experience stripping, overhauling, reassembling, and testing starters and alternators for various diesel engines
- Ability to work according to safety regulations and company policies and procedures
- Handle all related workshop administration
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Grade 12 certificate
- Completed Auto Electrical trade test
- Up-to-date EIZ membership
- Valid Silicosis certificate
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, with experience in the mining environment
