Position Overview:
The Credit Officer will be responsible for managing the credit process, including assessing creditworthiness, approving loans, and ensuring that financial risks are minimized. This individual will also ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations while fostering strong relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
– Evaluate credit applications and assess financial risk by reviewing applicants’ financial information.
– Conduct credit checks and verify the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses.
– Approve or decline credit requests in line with company policies and risk tolerance.
– Work closely with customers to provide appropriate credit terms and payment solutions.
– Monitor and manage the performance of credit accounts, ensuring timely repayments.
– Prepare reports on credit activity, including outstanding balances and risk analysis.
– Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and changes that may affect credit risk.
– Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve credit-related issues.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
– Proven experience as a Credit Officer or in a similar role (2+ years preferred).
– Strong understanding of credit policies, financial statements, and risk management.
– Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess financial data and make informed decisions.
– Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
– Proficiency in MS Office; experience with credit management software is a plus.
– Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
