Responsibilities:

• Ensures timely ordering of drugs and other medical supplies from suppliers.
• Reviews prescriptions, organizing the pharmacy, delivering and labeling medications, providing information and advice to patients.
• Ensure safe medication use.
• Prepares medicines according to Doctor’s prescriptions and monitors patient medical history.
• Provides consultancy on pharmaceutical care to patients in order to improve quality of care.
• Monitors regularly the implementation of pharmaceutical care.
• Reports on the hazards that pharmacy staff may be exposed to.
• Implement pharmacovigilance service in the pharmacy.
• Prepares monthly pharmacy plans and budget.
• Undertakes monthly drug utilization reviews.
• Reviews monthly sales and expenditures.

Key Performance Indicators:

1. Financial: Planning and budgeting, improvement on sales.
2. Process: Drug management, monitoring and evaluation.
3. Customer: Good management of customer relationships.
4. Team: Ability to maintain leadership in management of other Pharmacy staff as relates to their work output and ethics.
