KGL Community Development Corporation Limited (KGLCDC) is a newly formed entity, established to spearhead Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for Kafue Gorge Lower Power Development Corporation Limited

Job Brief

The Manager – CSR plays a crucial role in driving community engagement, environmental stewardship, and philanthropic efforts, ultimately enhancing the company’s reputation, building stakeholder trust and a creating a meaningful social impact.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Developing and implementing CSR strategies aligned with the company’s values, business goals, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including communities to understand their perspectives and incorporate their feedback into CSR initiatives.
  • Program Management: Overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of CSR programs and initiatives across various focus areas to stir community development.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Managing budgets, allocating resources, and optimizing expenditures to ensure cost-effective implementation of CSR activities while minimising social and environmental impact.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring the progress and impact of CSR initiatives, collecting relevant data and performance metrics, and preparing regular reports for internal and external stakeholders to communicate outcomes and demonstrate accountability.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to CSR activities, as well as identifying and mitigating risks associated with social, environmental, and governance issues.
  • Employee Engagement: Promoting employee engagement and involvement in CSR initiatives through sustainability training, and other initiatives to foster a culture of corporate citizenship and social responsibility.
  • Communication and Public Relations: Developing communication strategies and materials to effectively communicate the company’s CSR efforts to various audiences, including media, and the general public, to enhance reputation and brand value.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of CSR strategies and initiatives, soliciting feedback from stakeholders, and identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation to drive positive social and environmental change.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field from an institution of recognised standing.
  • Must have 8+ years of relevant experience of managing community programs of a public or private institution.
  • Must know local and regional labor laws
  • Possess initiative and mature judgment with the ability to make and implement sound decisions.
  • Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of sustainability, community relations or related fields.

Affiliations

Must be a member of the relevant professional body.
