Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interpret mostly verbal Chinese. Therefore, must be quick to understand and speak Chinese
• Act as a link between the Chinese and locals
• Site supervision
• Fluent in English and Chinese. Able to translate accurately and clearly
• Provide Chinese support services, including transcription, and translation/interpretation
• Provide any and all cultural and ethnic context of translations, interpretations, and transcriptions
• Follow up on important projects. Support and facilitate the completion of regular reports
• Perform document scan, research, and analysis of foreign language documents and intercepted data for key information
• Maintain effective daily operations and make suggestions for process improvements when necessary
• Able to work longer hours (overtime) which will be added to your salary

Some requirements for a career in Chinese translation include:

1. Experience: 2 years plus
2. Education Level: Diploma Level
3. Qualifications: A degree in Social Sciences will be an added advantage
4. Software: Work Related
5. Equipment: Industry Related
6. Knowledge Of: Knowledge and ability generally obtained through the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree program
7. Skills To: Good Chinese listening skills as well as interpreting spoken Chinese correctly
8. Ability To: Effective written and verbal communication
9. Other Requirements; Quick learner
