Solar and Electrical Installer Freshtec Energy

Will be responsible for installing and maintaining solar panel systems on residential, commercial, and industrial properties. The role requires technical knowledge in solar panel installation, electrical systems, and general construction knowledge.

Responsibilities:

1.Site Assessment: Conduct thorough site assessments to determine the suitability of the location for solar panels, inverter and battery installation. Evaluate factors such as shading, orientation, structural integrity, and electrical capacity of the site.
2.Solar Panel Installation: Plan and execute the installation of solar PV systems on rooftops, open grounds, or other suitable locations. Ensure adherence to safety standards and relevant regulations during the installation process.
3.Electrical Wiring: Handle electrical wiring and connections between solar panels, inverters, and electrical systems to ensure efficient energy transfer and safe operation.
4.Mounting: Mount and secure solar panels using appropriate mounting structures, considering structural integrity and maximizing solar energy capture.
5.Inverter and Battery Installation: Install and configure inverters and Batteries, integrating them with electrical components and the electrical grid
6.System Testing: Conduct tests and inspections to verify the proper functioning of the installed solar PV systems. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the testing phase.
7.Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance of solar PV systems, including cleaning panels, checking connections, and inspecting the overall performance of the system. Identify and rectify any faults or malfunctions promptly.
8.Health and Safety Compliance: Comply with safety regulations and best practices to ensure the safety of oneself and others during the installation process.
9.Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to explain the installation process, answer questions, and provide information on system maintenance and operation.
10.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Complete necessary paperwork, including work orders, permits, and inspection reports.

Requirements:
1.Education: Tertiary electrical or similar qualification required. Additional technical certifications in solar PV installation or electrical trades are advantageous.
2.Must have valid membership with EIZ.
3.Experience: Previous experience in solar PV installation, electrical work, or construction is preferred.
4.Technical Skills: Proficiency in solar panel installation, electrical wiring, and system troubleshooting. Familiarity with tools and equipment used in the installation process.
5.Physical Fitness: The role may involve lifting heavy solar panels and working at heights, so physical fitness and agility are essential.
6.Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with local building codes, electrical regulations, and safety standards specific to South Africa’s solar industry.
7.Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate and safe installation of solar PV systems.
8.Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and work as part of a team
