Job Summary:
The Sites Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of mining sites, ensuring efficient and safe mining practices. This role involves managing site teams, ensuring safety compliance, controlling costs and ensuring operations meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Site Operations:
- Oversee all mining activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting production targets.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Team Supervision:
- Lead and manage site teams, ensuring they are trained and motivated.
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to site schedules.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure safety protocols are followed and risks are minimized.
- Conduct regular safety checks and training to maintain a safe working environment.
Cost Control:
- Monitor operational costs and work within the site budget.
- Identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs without compromising safety.
Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to management on site performance, production, and safety.
- Address any issues promptly and report them to senior management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 5 years in mining operations, with experience in managing teams.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Understanding of mining safety standards and regulations
- A relevant qualification in mining, engineering, or operations is a plus.
