Location: Lusaka
Job Purpose: The role is responsible for the facilitation of smooth operations of MFZ through timely payments.
Key Outputs & Responsibilities:
- Ensuring payments, amounts, and records are correct.
- Recording and filing cash transactions.
- Enter financial transactions into internal databases.
- Submit payments to the bank on a timely basis after signatories have signed all bank instructions.
- Bank reconciliation.
- Processing expense requests for the accountant to approve.
- Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc.
- Ensure that all payments are filed appropriately.
- Perform related work as assigned.
- Handling communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person.
- Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
- Updating and maintaining procedural documentation.
Required Attributes:
- Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
- Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive.
- Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately.
- Competent IT skills, particularly proficiency with spreadsheet software.
- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors; handle sensitive, confidential information.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting & finance-related environment
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field (certified by ZAQA)
- Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
- Experience in the financial sector will be an added advantage
