MAINTENANCE MANAGER X 1

Reports to: PLANT DIRECTOR

Job Overview:

To direct, plan, and control all aspects of engineering functions at Limestone Resources Limited to ensure that services rendered to operating and service departments are efficient, economical and of the standard required to meet production targets

Accountabilities/Tasks

  • Manages the maintenance of equipment /machines plants to acceptable standards to ensure maximum equipment/machine availability.
  • Develop, and implement long, medium- and short-term plans for overhaul and replacement of equipment to meet on-going operation and production requirements.
  • Budgets for and control the utilization of human and materials resources to optimize cost effectiveness.
  • Ensures that maintenance of equipment /machinery is carried out safely and in compliance with domestic and Government Mining Regulations to safeguard people and equipment.
  • Liaises with production and service officials to set priorities and establish good working relations among various sections of the company

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 certificate with credits or better, including Math and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering –Mechanical or Electrical
  • Five (5) years post-qualifying experience (2 years as Senior Assistant Engineer + 3 Years as Sectional Engineer)
  • Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (MEIZ) after practicing for at least 2 years
  • Registered Engineer with the Engineering Registration Board (REng) obtained practice for at least 3 years

The work encompasses complex operations for which general and broad directions have been established. The holder is expected to determine and implement departmental goals

Analytical Skills

The job encompasses relatively diverse functions where engineering design, calculations and drawings are required

Numerical/ Computation Skills

The job requires the use of more complex calculations where development of formulae is required in engineering design (pump stations, conveyor systems, drives, BOQs) and capital budgeting (NPV, IRR, Payback Periods)
