About the role:

Our client; a fast-growing, mission-driven company in the manufacturing and FMCG Industry is looking for a Marketing Executive to join their team. The Marketing Executive will develop and execute the company’s marketing strategy, driving brand awareness, consumer engagement, and market share expansion. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales and Marketing, this individual will oversee brand positioning, campaign planning, and promotional activities while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Supply Chain, as well as distribution partners. As a key member of the commercial function, the Marketing Executive must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and approach challenges with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop Brand and Marketing Strategies

  • Create and execute a unified marketing plan aligned with the companies’ overall business goals, ensuring measurable impact on revenue and brand growth.
  • Define brand identity, voice, and messaging, maintaining consistency across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, consumer insights, and competitor movements, leveraging data to refine marketing approaches.

2. Campaign Development and Execution

  • Plan and launch multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital, modern & general trade marketing) that resonate with target consumers.
  • Oversee product launches, promotions, and special events, coordinating with Sales, Supply Chain as well as distributors to ensure seamless execution.
  • Set clear KPIs, monitor campaign performance, and optimize strategies based on data-driven insights.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Oversight

  • Work closely with the Sales team to develop go-to-market strategies, promotional plans, and channel-specific initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Production teams to ensure product availability, timely distribution, and alignment of marketing activities with operational capacities.
  • Manage the marketing budget, making data-informed decisions to optimize spend and ROI.

4. Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor members of the marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and accountability.
  • Set team objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing coaching to support professional growth and retention.
  • Encourage cross-functional teamwork and champion an environment that values open communication, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

5. Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Use market research, consumer feedback, and sales data to refine marketing strategies and product positioning.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to track marketing performance, presenting insights and recommendations to the Head of Commercial.
  • Seek and implement best practices in digital marketing, brand management, and market expansion to keep the company on the cutting edge.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field is a plus
  • 3-5+ years of commercial leadership experience in FMCG or the food industry.
  • Proven success in designing and implementing brand-building campaigns, managing cross-functional initiatives, and driving measurable growth.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics, digital advertising platforms, and marketing automation tools
  • Strong understanding of brand development, consumer behaviour, and market research.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and project management abilities.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills, with an aptitude for mentorship and talent development.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
  • Should be a member of Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM)

Compensation:

The incumbent will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
