Job Purpose
To efficiently operate a 14-tonne truck/crane for the transportation of materials and other production-related tasks, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient delivery to support operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
Operate the truck/crane safely and effectively for material transportation and production-related assignments.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal working condition.
Adhere to company policies regarding equipment maintenance, including logging working hours and routine service checks.
Ensure roadworthiness of the vehicle by carrying out daily inspections and reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
Strictly comply with traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to prevent accidents and ensure safe operations.
Minimize wear and tear on the vehicle by operating efficiently and following best driving practices.
Assist in loading and offloading materials while ensuring proper securing of cargo.
Report any incidents, delays, or operational challenges to the relevant department.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Grade 12 School Certificate (or equivalent).
Valid Driver’s License – Class “CE” or above.
Minimum of 5 years of truck/crane driving experience, with proven expertise in handling heavy-duty vehicles of 14 tonnes or more.
Strong knowledge of road safety laws, vehicle operations, and maintenance procedures.
Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and ensure vehicle upkeep.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
High level of responsibility, discipline, and a sober character.
Ability to work independently while following operational schedules and deadlines.
