Job Title : Electrical Maintenance Technician
We are seeking skilled Electrical Maintenance Technicians to join our company. The successful candidates will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mining equipment and infrastructure.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintenance of various types of motors, electrical cabinets and instruments of machines.
- Developing, installing, and maintaining electrical infrastructure such as power distribution systems, motors, and lighting.
- Diagnosing and resolving issues with electrical machinery to minimize downtime.
- Implementing energy-efficient practices to reduce consumption and improve sustainability.
- Designing and maintaining control systems for mining operations, including monitoring and automation.
- Planning and executing electrical projects, ensuring they stay within budget and deadlines.
- Regularly checking electrical equipment to identify potential faults or hazards.
- Develop, install, and maintain electrical systems for mining equipment, processing plants, and site infrastructure.
- Ensure the continuous operation of electrical components in crushers, conveyors, pumps, and other critical mining machinery.
- Adhere to industry regulations and site-specific safety protocols to minimize risks associated with high-voltage equipment.
- Manage power supply systems, transformers, substations, and backup generators to ensure a stable electricity supply.
- Maintain records of electrical maintenance, modifications, and safety inspections.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Full Grade twelve (12) certificate
- Advanced Certificate/Diploma/Degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Atleast 5 years proven experience preferably in mining or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations (e.g., MSHA, OSHA).
- Experience with high-voltage systems, switchgear, and motor controls.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, remote location.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Certification with relevant professional body
