Our client, a growing supplier of high-quality engineering components and equipment to Zambia’s mining sector, is seeking to recruit a dynamic and self-motivated Sales Engineer to be based in Kitwe. The company provides innovative and reliable solutions to major mining operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
Job Purpose
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales of engineering supply components to major mining companies, ensuring that all products meet the required engineering standards, while building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients in the mining industry.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.
- Ensure all supplied components comply with industry standards and client specifications.
- Prepare and present technical sales proposals and quotations.
- Provide after-sales support and technical assistance to clients.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering.
- Strong understanding of mining equipment, processing systems, and engineering components.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in technical sales and ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales within the mining or engineering sector.
Proven track record in selling industrial or engineering components to mines.
