Site Operator Kalonga Logistics

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for performing stock, refueling, quality control checks and equipment/materials maintenance operations in accordance with Kalonga HSE policies and guidelines, sound equipment maintenance and Kalonga procedure and processes around dips, products receipt, handling and storage and refueling.

The Site Operator is responsible to perform Kalonga HSE policies and programs, stock operations (dips, receipts, issues and reconciliations) and transaction record integrity, Refueling operations, Equipment operations, Equipment checks, autonomous equipment maintenance and reporting

MAIN DUTIES

a) Take safety as a personal responsibility and prevent accident/incidents to achieve no harm to people, environment and equipment as per the site motto of “safety does not hurt but accidents do”.
b) Understand all the Kalonga HSE policies, procedures and guidelines and comply with all the requirements including Barrick HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines.
c) Inspect your work area to look for hazards and report all the hazards to your immediate supervisor.
d) Report all the incidents/accidents including near misses and injuries in your work area to supervisor in accordance with Kalonga accident/incident reporting requirements. Clean the respective working area in sound house-keeping condition to ensure orderly maintenance of the working area “using the clean as you go policy” and to prevent accidents/incidents.
e) Control the in-flow, out-flow of traffic into the refueling bay or station, and conduct HSE checks relating to vehicle integrity and personnel PPE. This includes reporting leaks on equipment and any other appropriate observations made.
f) Receive product perform regular and control dips and obtain samples for accounting at 20 degrees in accordance with depot operating procedures.
g) Load product into bowsers sale in accordance with the depot and Barrick guidelines.
h) Refuel customer equipment in accordance with the to the depot operating procedures and barrack guidelines
i) Conduct dips and convert the issues of the at 20 degrees for the purpose of accounting for sales and standard temperature in the stock reconciliation.
j) Take fuel samples from the nozzles, label and submit to the yard controller for the purpose of product quality testing by an independent laboratory.
k) Maintain accurate records for the stock operations and transactions to ensure that the figures or numbers posted in the stock and /or depot books reflect an accurate record of the business transactions and stock operations.
l) In the performance of stock and/or refueling operation, project a good Kalonga cooperate image and continuously obtain feedback of Kalonga service to assess the level of service for continuous improvement.
m) Assist the yard controller in investigating any in-transit and working gains and losses to ensure that the gains and losses are within tolerable levels and assist explaining/justifying any abnormal gains and losses.
n) Perform equipment checks and perform autonomous maintenance and report on the performance bowser and Barrick refueling equipment to ensure that the equipment is maintained in a sound state in accordance with the Barrick and Kalonga operating Maintenance standards.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Education background

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Technician Finance (CAT/AAT/ATD)/Business Administration/Craft certificate

Competencies and experience

  • 2 years’ experience in operations
  • Ability to work with diverse teams including site supervisors
  • Good Communication and interpersonal Relationship skills
  • Mature and wise decision making
